Manual or Electric? The Handheld Mixer

Handheld Electric mixers take up a bit more space so if it isn't absolutely necessary, you may want to trade one in for a manual version which saves space due to it's vertical, slim design.
There are substantial reasons why you may wish to have an electric version instead (i.e. arthritis, etc.) and there's no denying they mix food faster and are best for thicker substances than their hand-cranking counterparts. However, you can balance out that negative with knowing that your manual mixer saves on electricity (no matter how small) and will be available to you even if the power should ever go out. And let's not forget, it may suit you best if aren't big on cooking and only need a mixer from time to time for light cooking.
If nothing else, it makes for a good traveling alternative when you're on a camping trip or beyond the means of everyday necessities we take for granted.
