Ready to use straight from the box, the KEWB’s ingenious, patented British design allows it to change into so many different forms it’s hard to find someone that wouldn’t find a KEWB useful.

Requiring absolutely no home assembly, with only a few simple moves the KEWB changes from a table unit to a full size comfy chair and table, a bed and side table, a games table, a TV or video or hi-fi unit…. the list goes on and on!

A unique patented design, hand made in solid, lacquered hardwood with a top quality foam cushion covered in removable faux suede fabrics nothing else compares to a KEWB.

Casulo is still on the drawing board – so far, there is a prototype but that is as far as the project has reached at present.

Despite this, the innovative Casulo design has already won an award from the Abraham and David Roentgen Foundation. A further recognition was awarded by the Lucky Strike Junior Design Award in 2008.

Casulo is the brainchild of two students from the Köln International School of Design in Cologne who developed the concept of the Casulo mobile living unit as their dissertation project in June 2007. Professor Axel Kufus, of the University of Arts in Berlin judged the Casulo project and was impressed by the students’ idea. Casulo is now protected by the Gebrauchsmuster patent.

This doesn’t explain what Casulo is, however. OK, well, think ‘pallet’. In fact, think of a pallet measuring just 80cm x 120cm. Then think of flat-packed furniture – enough to furnish all your requirements for everyday living. That is where the similarity ends.

Casulo is a full set of furniture which can be assembled within ten minutes without the need for tools and equally quickly disassembled and packed up like an ordinary Euro pallet of the size mentioned above. A particular feature of the Casulo concept is its strength, requiring no additional packaging for when it needs to be transported.

Another feature is that it can be easily maneuvered by two people and fulfills the requirements of the 21st century move-around society–put it on the roof rack of the family car. That, in a nutshell, is the idea behind Casulo. Visit the site to find out more about Casulo.

You can learn how to build a loft bed for small rooms and dorms. The great thing about this particular loft bed is that it allows you to hang your clothes up underneath the bed, so you have your own makeshift wardrobe.

Before building, if you can get lumber for free or at little cost, you’ll find it’ll save you quite a bit of money in the long run. One great place to look is Craigslist. Especially if you live in or near a large city. They have a “free” section and often you’ll find things like this that are given away for free.

As for the plan itself, it includes the usual. It fills you in on all of the materials you need, then gives you step-by-step instructions on how to design your own loft bed.

If you ever wanted a small space solution to take care of all of your needs, then you’ll want to keep an eye on Matroshka. The picture should say it all but if you’re eager to know more, Matroshka is an all-in-one compact living solution.

The compact furniture was designed by four university students in May 2007. It was created with the idea of making the most of small spaces. Taking up less space than 4 m2, it includes a bookshelf, double bed, sofa or corner sofa, and a dinner table or sofa table.

Other additional features included are: four stools, 12 seats, working space, a wardrobe, a cleaning products box, storage drawers and folder storage.

At the moment it’s not for sale. The designers are currently in the process of trying to get it in production. So let’s hope they get it out there quick so we can get out hands on it in the foreseeable future.
